The ring floats freely on the bridle. It should be sized so that it does not fall
off the bridle after releasing from the harness. Pin and ring must be sized to
handle 2/3 of the tow force TIMES 2 (at least) or about 400 pounds without
deforming. This goes for the line as well.

Wrap the loop around the ring. Spread loop and pull up on both sides so that
the loop straddles the "standing lines." Insert pin under one loop, over both
standing lines, then back under the other side of the loop.

In all cases, whether this particular release is used or not, all hardware and
connections must not be able to catch or snag on a side wire even during
a tumble or other situation.

Thanks to Wes Schield for coming up with an elegant solution.
